Betz Family Vineyards Syrah

Yahoo!  We got enough for the club!

We got just enough of the two 2002 Betz Syrahs to fill the club, plus a couple of magnums.  The fruit for the La Serenne comes from the Boushey vineyard outside of Grandview; it makes the wilder of the two Syrahs, with a meaty, gamey flavor that´s very rich - and clearly Syrah.  It´ll hold in your cellar for at least five years.  The second Syrah, La Cote Rousse, comes from two vineyards on Red Mountain: Kiona Vineyard (65%), and Hedges Vineyard (35%).  As one might expect from Red Mountain fruit, it´s big, and somewhat tannic.  I´d definitely hold this for a while - up to eight years.  Enjoy!  They were both $41.50 while our brief stock lasted!
