April 2004 Washington Wine of the Month Club
2001 Leonetti Cellar Walla Walla Valley Cabernet
Sauvignon
Yep, that´s right—this month´s selection is one (1) wine.
It´s probably the most highly sought-after wine made in the Northwest, and
that´s because winemaker Gary Figgins has been making the best wines in the
Northwest since before most of the current crop of wineries opened and, in some
cases, before their winemakers were born. Leonetti Cellar is the oldest winery
in Walla Walla. We get minimal amounts of their wine each year, and allocate it
to our club members first. This cost $72.50 (less 10% discount), and it´s
fairly well ready to drink. It will also hold for about five years in the
cellar. There are miniscule quantities of other Leonetti wines in stock (the
Cabernet is sold out), and they´ll be available to club members only through
April 15th. After that, they´ll be available on a first-come,
first-served basis to all customers. Check with us at the shop if you´re
interested in more. Enjoy!
