January 2004 Washington Wine Club
2001 Reininger Walla Walla Valley Syrah
Chuck Reininger has been making outstanding wine at his Walla Walla Airport facility
for some time now. This Syrah (always one of his best wines) is a lot more
limited than usual; he only made 240 cases, and I doubt we´ll be able to get
more. There´s probably some still at the winery, should you care to
pursue it. It´s $30.00, and ready to drink, although it´ll hold for
five years or more in your cellar.
2002 Dunham Cellars Red Mountain Semillon Ice Wine
Wow. What a wine. Ice Wine is notoriously difficult to make; the grapes
have to freeze on the vine and be crushed while frozen. This is Eric
Dunham´s first ice wine; he holds out hope that there´ll be some this
year (easy to imagine, since it´s snowing outside as I type this!). It
runs $55.00, and is generally winery-only. We can probably come up with a bit
more should you like.

you up-to-date on the latest goodies and on the progress of our new shop!
