November 2006 Specialty Club
2004 Sequel Syrah
Once again, we are pleased to offer a Long Shadows winery project
to our clubs. This Syrah is made from the finest of Washington State Syrah
grapes by John Duval, who was responsible for the Penfold´s Grange Syrah,
unquestionably one of the world´s great wines. This one is considerably
less expensive than Grange; it´s $58.00, and we have a very small amount more
available. This big wine will hold in your cellar for several years.
2004 Ogier Viognier de Rosine
Ogier is one of the great producers of the Northern Rhone
valley. His Côte Roties are spectacular, and highly sought after. He has
some properties in the Rhône Valley that aren´t in one of the major
appellations. This one comes from vineyards neighboring the great Viognier
vineyards of Condrieu, where the finest wines of its type are made. Since
it´s just outside the appellation, the price is less, and I´ll let you
judge for yourself as to the quality! It runs $35.00, and there´s a
miniscule amount left.
