June 2006 Specialty Club
2003 Justin Isosceles
Just occasionally, I try to get you verticals of really consistent
wines. This is a good example. We put the 2001 in an earlier club, and the
2002 release of this in the July 2005 club after a shop tasting where it was extremely
well received; this wine will hardly be less well-received - and it´s somewhat rare.
The early part of this year saw a horrible fire in a Vallejo wine warehouse where
much of Justin´s stock was stored, destroying almost their entire year´s release.
Ouch. This wine goes for $56.00, and there´s no more. I´d
hold it for another five years, but it´ll drink well now with adequate decanting.
2004 Peter Michael L´Apres-Midi
This is from the great Peter Michael winery, and is primarily
Sauvignon Blanc, with a bit of Semillon added for body and depth. It´s
absolutely beautiful, of course, and will drink well over the next three years.
It´s $$43.00, and there is a bit left. Enjoy!
