2001 Shafer Napa Valley Syrah "Relentless"
This is the first time I’ve put consecutive vintages of a wine
into this club. I think it will be an interesting comparison between this
release and last year’s release of this outstanding Syrah, one of Napa’s finest.
It’s $60.00, and sold out - of course. Hold it for up to ten years,
although I’d probably drink it sooner.
2004 Mulderbosch Stellenbosch Sauvignon Blanc
I’m beginning to get the feeling that the southern hemisphere
understands Sauvignon Blanc better than the northern. First New Zealand makes
world class wine, and now I’ve had several incredible South African Sauvignon
Blancs. Seems that South Africa has really picked up the quality in recent
years, and this limited-supply wine certainly proves the point. It’s $22.00 -
did I mention the value I’m seeing from there? - and almost gone. Enjoy
young.
