2001 Forgeron Merlot
I know it´s no surprise that I´m a big fan of Marie-Eve Gilla´s wines.   I´ve not had anything that I didn´t enjoy from this Walla Walla-based winery, and this Merlot certainly won´t change that!  It runs $27.00, and is in reasonable short-term supply.  It´ll hold for another couple years, and will go well with just about any reasonably rich food, or by itself.  We also have a good stock of their un-oaked Chardonnay in stock at $19.00.

2003 La Moussiere Sancerre
In one of my favorite regions in the world, this is one of the best producers.  I visited winemaker Alphonse Mellot in 2000, trying most of the barrels in the winery and marveling that, at the time, this wine wasn´t being brought into this area.  We helped change that.   This is the third time a wine from M. Mellot has graced one of our clubs.  It is 100% Sauvignon Blanc, from a VERY warm vintage (by Sancerre standards); consequently, it has a much fuller, richer palate feel than is typical for the region.  It´s a beautifully balanced, nuanced wine that is ready to drink and will go well with shellfish, chicken, rabbit... you get the idea.   It sells for $19.75, and is in reasonable supply for the short term.

2002 Juan Gil Jumilla
Jumilla is one of the fastest-growing regions of Spain, known primarily for the Monastrell grape, which is known as Mourvedre in France.  In Jumilla, it produces a full, earthy wine that will go well with rich foods.  For $15.00, it´s quite a bargain.  There´s a good amount of it, and it´s ready to drink.

2004 Syncline Grenache Rosé
You know that this wine finds a home in this club every time out.  Says a lot for the consistency of this winery, no?  Winemaker James Mantone constantly comes up with winners, and this rich Rosé is a beautiful accompaniment to spring and summer fare.  The winery is almost out of this one.  It´s $13.00.

2000 Chateau de la Haute Libarde Cotes de Bourg
Amazingly enough, Bordeaux really doesn´t have to cost an arm and a leg!  This $12.00 beauty needs a bunch of time in your cellar - up to ten years - and will deliver the goods.   It´s an elegant, lovely, lighter style of Bordeaux that will accompany lots of different foods.  There´s a good supply.

2003 Chateau de Campuget Costieres de Nimes Blanc
This is a LOT of wine for $9.00!  It comes from an estate owned by Jean-Lin Dalle in the region just south of the lovely city of Nimes in the south of France.  It´s made from Grenache Blanc and Clairette, among other grapes.  It is light and refreshing, just right for that patio wine you´re looking for.  There´s lots of it imported by our importer friend Robert Kacher.  Enjoy!
